Danny,
Thank you for the kind words and I appreciate you being there. It was an amazing day. We had 'em' from the age of your grandson to 80. We had the original owners of Coastal Plains,Kinston,Holly Ridge, & Newport. It was a neat deal listening to them speak of the good ole days. I am going to name as many racers as possible out of respect and hope I don't miss too many. Shade Aldridge (ex-racer & owner of Kinston) Ronnie Barnette Namon Batts Paul Bell Doc Bilbrey Bobby Brown Garley & Randy Daniels Troy Dennis Ellis Drone George Duff Danny Dunn (Mickey Taylor) David Gallion Gene Garrett Bobby Goodson JD Heath Steve Hix (ex-owner of Coastal) Linwood & Dalton Horne Billy Howard (first owner of Coastal) Larry Howard (owner of Newport) Stan Hudson Troy & Ronnie Humphrey Raymond Humphrey Billy Hunter Richard James Billy Jones Kenny Koonce Perry Lellewyn RL Martin (drove 8 hours) Randy Mason Ed Mclawhorn Mike Melvin Bobby & Mike Merritt Jimmy Morton Glen Morton Daryl Ottaway (owner of Holly Ridge) Tommy Pollard Hubert Pulley Robert (Big R) Richardson Alan Robinson Gary Shepard Curtis Smith Johnny Wyrick (raced Don Garlits) Bobby,Jeff, & Brooke Warren Danny Waters Guy Whaley Leon Whaley Reckless Rex Whitehurst Larry Whitley Frank Willis Jody Yopp (Ronnie) We had crewmen, family members, track officials and workers. And don't forget the IHRA tech official! We even had people stop in off the street wanting to buy some of the hot rods we had parked our front. It was an honor and a privilege to be a part of it. We are planning on have one every year from now on. I want to personally thank everyone who went and was a part of a truly great experience. Doyle |
