Re: Just and Idea for more heads up racing
Amen! It is amazing to read this board and see how pissed some of these guys get when someone says 95% of the racing they do is glorified bracket racing, and they respond we are heads up class racers. I love Stock/SS cars as much as anybody, been around them all my life and I respect the effort that goes into making the cars run within the rules, Scott knows this, but I got to say heads up racing in some of these classes is a solo run or only racing one other car in the class is a poor excuse for heads up racing. You guys that are always wanting more attention at the track and in the press you may have to start thinking outside the box in order to get it.

Guys, it's called CLASS RACING, not heads up racing! Different thing. This is CLASS RACER.COM not heads up racer.com. And for the record, I'm not mad at all! Jim

Re: Just and Idea for more heads up racing
Well I guess I really don't understand all the fuss about the factored hp on these cars then. The ahfs has worked like it was supposed to. The dp and cj cars have had a ton of hp and will get more as the combinations are sorted out better. Since its "CLASS RACING" it really doesnt matter about hp factors . We all just have to dial - in anyway.. Maybe what everyone wants here is to do away with all heads up races in eliminations? Or Combine Stock and Super Stock and have a 256 car no box race?
Nathan your right I just thought if it added a few more heads up races it would add a little excitement back to "CLASS RACING". The mass exit of people from the stands when they call SS/S or even running class at the US Nationals infront of 1,000 people instead of 20,000 is a terrible thing and needs to be addressed.Thats even with 30 Hemi cars that cost what a modern Pro Stocker costs. Most of the SS/S cars are bueatiful works of art and it's amazing how fast they are.. People just need to know about them someway I can tell this is not something you guys want so lets hear your ideas.. |

Just a couple of reasons Mr Hutt1 for the "mass exodus" is that after 2 hours of "up-in-smoke" fuelers some need a potty or snack break, the rest are "implored" by the announcer to go to the pits for autographs and souvenirs. The past few years class cars run either when fans are at Denny's or later at Outback or in bed
