Maybe it's just a div 6 & 7 series. Here is a copy from div 7
The NHRA ET challenge would consist of a four race series to be held at each NHRA Pacific Division Member Track. Racers will compete at their local track and not be required to travel for a chance at this award. Each competitor will be required only to be signed up for track points and have a current NHRA Competition Number/License (ET) and Membership. Champions will be crowned in Super Pro, Pro and Sportsman. Each champion will receive a Wally and jacket for this accomplishment. The racer with the highest overall points receives the Wally and Jacket. You stand as good as a chance as any other racer from any other track.

its called "Land of the Leaders" ET challenge. It is a scheduled four race points event put on in conjunction with a bracket race at your local track. A race within a race if you will. the local tracks send the results to Div 6, the overall points leaders in the ET categories win,and at the end of the year Div 6 awards banquet the winners are announced. Awarded a wally and a jacket. Kind of off the radar type of thing .Your local track rep at the awards banquet should have picked up your stuff. If you were not notified, I think it would have been nice for you to be notified of winning so you could have attended and picked up your own award, and moment in the spotlight.

Well here's the deal, I won it.
I was not notified, So I didn't go to the banquet nor get my moment in the spotlight as you say. I emailed the division director to ask if you could mail the Wally and jacket, He tells me no jacket. I looked it up and sure enough as far back as 2003 it show's you get a jacket. I emailed him a copy of his own notice showing this and he emails me back and say's it's a typo!!!!! Really? A typo? Since 2003 it's been a typo? WTF? Has anyone in Div 7 or Div 6 ever got a jacket? Or is this new this year? I have emailed Mike Rice to find out what he is doing for his racer's but he has not responded yet.

Coos Bay had some winners several years ago. I will check with the owner about the jackets. I know there were jackets with the wallys, BUT, I think that the track owner might have gotten them. Not sure about that. If you were not notified, I would imagine that your track operator was, and he did not pass the word along. Will check into that for you also. Probably be several days before I get back to you

I appreciate the help.
My track manager was not notified in advance, He didn't know until they announced my name at the banquet.

Ok Phillip, talked with the track owner today here at Coos Bay. He did not know in advance about any winners, not until the award ceremony at the banquet. He said they paraded all the other winners across the stage, and everyone got a jacket.EXCEPT the land of the leaders winners. he asked about that, and was brushed off. He decided to get the jackets for the guys from Coos Bay out of his own pocket. So, it looks like you have been treated the same as any other "Land of the Leaders" winner........... Its not the same as being on stage, acknowledged by your peers, pictures taken, and a moment of glory, BUT, i will applaud you for your achievements this past racing season........Tom Jarvis

Jr. and I have won three between us and just got only one Hat each time and a very shiny Wally that looked like it lost a fight with a buffer. Are you coming South this year?
