oh okay then, lol...I'm pretty sure that steel nose Dodges & Plymouths came with a scoop too, but I could be wrong, anyone else know for sure.

They had to have the Alum. front end parts to use the hood scoop on both the 63 and the 64 cars. The 64 alum front end station wagon version was removed from the guide many years ago. They also had to have the 425 HP Max Wedge engine combo to use the alum. front end on the 64 sedans and hardtops. They could not use the alum front end with the 415 HP engine on the 64's.

Thanks Terry, I knew you had the answer, I knew it had to do with the HP but could not put it in words.
PS
You wont find a 69 for $15 grand.

I know.......a junk 69 brings almost that much. I just put that on there to "TWEEK" a few. LOL I can almost see stock and S/S turnning into something like the Unleashed index classes a few years down the road unless NHRA gets their act together on the HP deal. Maybe they need another way to detemine the way of classifying the cars???? To many classes and to many engine combos being used today. It might need to be narrowed down to just a few combos of engines for the brands/body styles being used???? Who knows....I try not to get a head ache over it anymore.

I believe Tom Kasch here on Classracer ran a couple of early Camaro's, so what were the spec's on those cars, engines & trans etc, maybe he can post the link.

Chris, I have argued the hood scoop in Super Stock for a long time. Look at the "Grumpy" scoop on the fiberglass hood on the Bobby Yowell car. There are all different designs of scoops on hoods in these photos. I remember several different designs and some that were actually hand made and mounted on hoods and ran in Super Stock "back in the day."
