Default Re: A factory-blown Studebaker,,,

What I'm told,

Back in the day the #3100 lb. 64' Studebaker Lark,

The 1964 Lark 289/289 HP 'R2' Supercharged,
Fell into the 10.60 to 11.29 Wt/Hp Class-Bracket

The 1964 Lark 304/335 HP 'R3' Supercharged
Fell into the 8.70 to 9.59 Wt/Hp Class-Bracket, but the NHRA had other ideas.

Only a handful of the Super Lark 'R3' cars were built.
Hand-built at the Granatelli's Supershop in Los Angeles, California.
Numbers range from 90 to 125
The 'R3' was a $1000 option.
And the Super Lark could be ordered with 4.55 Gears.

In 1964, the NHRA would not class the 'R3' Super Lark car in Stock Class, as there seemed to be a lack of
factory information on an accurate horsepower rating.
While the Studebaker reps claimed 335 HP for the 'R3', which would have put the Super Lark in the
1964 A/S or A/SA Stock Class, the NHRA was estimating a higher horsepower rating, which would have
put the car into AA/S or AA/SA.
