hey Jared
Welcome here. Can always use some fresh blood & photos. Great shot of your grandfathers car. I actually prefer the color combo pre the current restored Mickey Weise colors.
Also in checking the background stuff in the pits it, looks like an ex S&M 67 B body behind it.

I prefer the original color combo myself as well. I always thought that car was great-looking. I'd like to see that paint scheme on a modern-day version in SS/AH -- called Hemi Countdown III, naturally.

So, I'm looking at this pic. & it sure looks like the car is classed as a SS/AA car. Bad angle????
What year did NHRA decide nothing factory made was going to be faster than the LO & BO cars & change the class from SS/B to SS/A

If I remember correctly that would say Fink's Used Cars on the side of that former S&M plymouth.
How do I remember this stuff and can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday?

Rollbars used at all in 68? Noticing bolt in bars in 69.
What year did SS/B get bumped to SS/A?

Got ahold of my grandfather's scrapbooks today. They've been squirreled away inside a closet at his house for 30+ years. This clipping is from National Dragster and there's a copy of it in one of the scrapbooks I've got here.

I'll post more pictures of the Dart when I get a chance to scan them. I've got a bunch.

Is there an "original hemi barracuda information" thread somewhere? Compared to the Dart I've got WAY more pictures of the two Barracudas he owned. I feel like I stumbled on buried treasure. Pictures of all 5 of the original Hemi cars he owned over the years (2 Belvederes, 2 Barracudas, 1 Dart).

Daryl,
This is a different Wildfire Dart - I was told that this one was not an original Hurst car
