Both the 1963 pushrod and 1964 DOHC Ford engines were 255 cubic inches. During that period of time the Offy's were also 255. Later in the 1960's pushrod motors could run at 305 which is what Dan Gurney did with his Weslake headed Fords. In 1968 when they started turbocharging the engines the size limit became 2.65 Liters. Bobby Unser won with the Offy when the two turbines died with 10 laps to go.

Hard to believe the Offy had roots in the Harry Miller fours made in the 1930s. I went to the Miller's at the Mile reunion last summer in Milwaukee. It was pretty cool seeing those old cars. Fred Offenhauser worked for Harry along back then before Harry died.
