This is the stick car Frank Spittle bought from someone in Fla. in 1987. Dependable Dodge in Vero Beach had a stick Dart delivered to them in 1968. I spoke with Mr. Harris with Dependable Dodge who is checking to see what he can find out. Just last year they threw out the old records so we are days late on that.
BUT here a Dart sits in Fla. sunshine with an elaborate paint job. No comp numbers but some race decals and a hoop over the driver and some psychedelic paint. Thanks to Frank for digging out the photo. Maybe someone on here knows this car. Thanks, Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for posting the picture. The guy I bought it from 25 years ago lived in Ormand Beach at the time. It could have been sold new in Florida but it was almost 20 years old at the time and you know how those cars had a way of traveling around America in that era. As I told you after you bought it the car was an absolutely beautiful car when I bought it and I originally had no intentions of restoring it. But after reading stories about Hurst building them and seeing the pictures at the Hurst plant of several sitting in their parking lot ready for pickup by the racers I decided to restore mine to be the first to look like it did when it left Hurst.

Wish we knew! It looks like someone ordered a stick Dart from Dependable Dodge in Vero Beach, Fla. and I see DD are still in business. Wonder if they have records pre computer era. I just may give them a ring.

Off the original list (car list from Hurst),

An Automatic car went to Joe Weis, which was
delivered to Biscayne Dodge in Miami Beach.

A 4-Speed was purchased by Alan Carroli, which was picked up at the Hurst Facility.

And, a 4-Speed car was ordered by Dependable Dodge out of Vero Beach, but no name was logged on the order.
Would you happen to know the last six digits of the car from the Hurst list...also does it list any other L023 & B029 serial numbers.

Do not think it was Dave Wren's orange Barracuda.

Been a few weeks since I last posted on this thread so it's time to put up a couple more pix before this thread lands up on page 2.
And to update info on it's history, I've made contact with Phil Burgiss from ND,, Bob Frey, & David Hakim, who have all agreed to see what they can dig up for me, but as you know, the racing schedule is in full stride right now, so, I"s just gotta sit tight for now
Anyway, here's a couple more pix of the completed 86 Tim Hennessey resto.
This is pretty much how I got the car in 2001. It looked like it was just restored that year, with not even a single stone chip on it, not even in the wheel wells.
Today, it shows almost the same, but does have some "gettin drivin" scars on it.

Daryl buy chance today a man came wandering in my shop that I have not seen in over ten years. His name is kenny wright,In conversation he started recounting to me about his uncle Charlie that drove Hemi darts! he is going to call his aunt ,Charlie's first wife to see if she still has pictures. he even told me where it was sitting on the trailer that my dad and uncle bought it from. Hopefully he will come through with some documentation to put this thing to rest. If you want me to I will ask him if it is ok if I give you his ph number so you can call him I will.
