Been a few weeks since I last posted on this thread so it's time to put up a couple more pix before this thread lands up on page 2.
And to update info on it's history, I've made contact with Phil Burgiss from ND,, Bob Frey, & David Hakim, who have all agreed to see what they can dig up for me, but as you know, the racing schedule is in full stride right now, so, I"s just gotta sit tight for now Anyway, here's a couple more pix of the completed 86 Tim Hennessey resto. This is pretty much how I got the car in 2001. It looked like it was just restored that year, with not even a single stone chip on it, not even in the wheel wells. Today, it shows almost the same, but does have some "gettin drivin" scars on it. liteweight ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Liteweight; 07-10-2012 at 12:08 PM. |

Daryl buy chance today a man came wandering in my shop that I have not seen in over ten years. His name is kenny wright,In conversation he started recounting to me about his uncle Charlie that drove Hemi darts! he is going to call his aunt ,Charlie's first wife to see if she still has pictures. he even told me where it was sitting on the trailer that my dad and uncle bought it from. Hopefully he will come through with some documentation to put this thing to rest. If you want me to I will ask him if it is ok if I give you his ph number so you can call him I will.

I think we may have covered the converted cars already, but I believe that the only converted LO car to have been found is Larry Griffith's.
The Charlie Allen big block car also, but I do not believe Charlie did the conversion on that car? I think the biggest thing going against the converted cars is being updated to the later body style. For example, as they go on through life, a '67-69 shell was probably more likely to be saved as compared to a '70-72. Last edited by Steve Stasko; 07-12-2012 at 06:43 PM. |

I was putting it out there in search of it's origin.
And, to see if it had been taken back to it's original self (if known) by anyone. |

First time seeing this car and hearing the name. The only info I have is:
"Dick Smith Town & Country Dodge racing at Detroit Dragway in the 1960's." ![]() M68
