Ya just have to love the Hemi Dart......ours, obviously, is not a Hemi....when I bought it 6 years ago, I thought seriously about making it a race Hemi...I didn't......probably much cheaper that I didn't, even tho I have a Steve Wann engine. LOL. Luv the 68 Darts.

I noticed that you were trying to sell the '68 Dart this past summer in the classifieds, but I was wondering if it would be a good candidate for a Hemi swap...what do you think it would need in upgrades besides the motor, would it need any other chassis work or rear suspension work done to it, just curious.

. It probably would not be a good canidate for a hemi swap...our Dart still has the rear frame rails and is not a 4 link....it is a cal-trac car that could be changed back to a stocker (much like Steve Wann's car). Our's has gone 1.26, but I just don't think it would work with a Hemi. On the other hand, a 68 Dart can run a 340, 383 or a 440 (like ours) plus the hemi. Also, with the 68, you can run it it GT with the scoop and one inch less wheel base.

I need to add (in case anyone is interested). Our car is a real 1968, GT, with a title. I am only trying to sell it because...............I am getting old. (Its a bitch) and Donna and I just can't travel as much. Our Dart is a great car and doesn't break. Steve Wann 440 engine (low deck). Pro-trans and all the good stuff. I have never taken the car out of bracket mode. I just need to sell some "stuff". Still have the stocker and street rod to keep me entertained LOL

Well it could be made into a replica of a real one if any one is looking for one to do up and drive it on the streets...plus it would look good in grey primer with a Race Hemi under the hood...then you could always take it down the road to Barrett Jackson and see if it would generate some interest...post somemore pics of it.

Valley Motors from Altoona had a whole lot of race cars....quite a few of them were bought from Sox & Martin. They owned the ex Sox 340 Cuda and the ex Sox GTX, among them. I'm pretty sure the AA car was an ex Sox, car, too. I'll try to track down the Feretta's, who owned them...maybe they know what happened to it.

There was also another Hemi Cuda in the Altoona area, Updyke & Thomas from Tyrone. It was bought new at the CP dealership in Tyrone....the name of the dealership escapes me now. The car was later owned, and, I believe is still by Clayton Wright, and he has been very successful. It was for sale at http://freerevs.com/car/286315#main Sam Pannutty owned it for a while.

Both cars were regulars at old Peterson Memorial Dragway near Altoona, and also on the Division 1 Super Stock circuit.

I'll see if I can get ahold of some guys and find out where they went....you guys are really taxing my memory.
