Perhaps you can explain some of these rules that were bent, or should I say were accused of, for those of us that didn't read any of those stories from back then...

Those cars were already 5 years old when raced. Longer wheelbase met the then pound per cubic inch rule/weight breaks to a better advantage.

And as I recall the "taxi" Maverick was past the age limit....Hence the Mustang.

Hemi Moose, got any of the undefeated Arrow? Had a set of the W2 heads off it, they were wicked fast.

The Mustangs were 1970 model cars and the the Maverick was built as a 1972 Don Hardy built the car it was 2-door it was stretched to a 4 door in Wayne Gapps shop in Livonia Loui Wolsinki did most of the fab work.

Hey Guys...Larry Sengstack purchased Bob Glidden's '70 Mustang...was involved in a towing/trailer embankment accident...re-bodied car as '71-'73 Mustang...later to become a Ford Fairmont...that's the "facts"...not "story"...Larry & his brother good guys/racers...The Gapp & Roush 4-door Maverick was purchased/raced by Jimmy Marino & his brother of Yonkers ,NY...as a C/A in Comp Eliminator (with good early success)...this car was totaled in a pit accident @ Raceway Park (Englishtown...too bad the late Vinnie or Richie Napp aren't here to confirm)...I purchased the motor & Lenco & the 2-door Maverick (which the Marinos' had installed in the Texas/Mickey Mills Don Hardy 2-door Maverick car before $$$ issues forced them to quit) ...the 4-door car/carcass was stripped & junked at Saw Mill Auto Wreckers...in Westchester County,NY... please "stop" the so called "story" of the guy who wishes to remain unknown (it just ain't so... but it is a "story" 'eh ) Jack (Roush) was indeed considering a somewhat "tribute"/re-creation car with Brent Hajack of Oklahoma (Brent "selling" the "plan"/idea)...when the obvious reality of actual vs. "created" (information) became known...Jack has somewhat cooled on this...Brent real nice guy...has been accused of bogus re-creations a number of times with other period cars ( he owns a "pile" of 'em)...U...get the idea......he also owns 3 or 4 current Cobra Jet cars...one...the Al Joniec/Rice Holman "tribute" car won won Pomona with the Calverts running it...lastly...the Dyno Don Nicholson '70 Mustang is here in Mooresville,North Carolina...in-tact..sorry Steve...I know you believe...what you have stated...but until we all have left the "planet" that do know...were/are there...these made up "stories"...just ain't gonna' get it!!! I worked at Thunder Valley Dragways in this era, and saw many obscure midwestern Pro Stockers come and go, as well as some big hitters, I will add what I can to this what I can.

John Hagen's Arrows

Laverty Performance (out of Iowa, if my memory serves me)

Rodekopf AMC

How about this pair of hitters from the cheap seats at Pomona, 1980, I believe.

Here is a picture of the Yuill Bros, car in its current form. I sold it a few years ago and a good friend has it. Great car, sometimes I kick myself for getting rid of it. These are pics from 2008 when I had it.

Mr. Burton,, welcome aboard, and thanks for posting the shots of your former Monza, I wish your current Camaro had some historical tales to tell,,, actually it probably does, but we're talking Pro Stock here!
Take care, Tony,, hope to see you and the guys out there again next season.
