Those cars were already 5 years old when raced. Longer wheelbase met the then pound per cubic inch rule/weight breaks to a better advantage.

The Mustangs were 1970 model cars and the the Maverick was built as a 1972 Don Hardy built the car it was 2-door it was stretched to a 4 door in Wayne Gapps shop in Livonia Loui Wolsinki did most of the fab work.
QUOTE=jmcarter;352574]And as I recall the "taxi" Maverick was past the age limit....Hence the Mustang. Hemi Moose, got any of the undefeated Arrow? Had a set of the W2 heads off it, they were wicked fast.[/QUOTE] |

I worked at Thunder Valley Dragways in this era, and saw many obscure midwestern Pro Stockers come and go, as well as some big hitters, I will add what I can to this what I can.

Here is a picture of the Yuill Bros, car in its current form. I sold it a few years ago and a good friend has it. Great car, sometimes I kick myself for getting rid of it. These are pics from 2008 when I had it.

Mr. Burton,, welcome aboard, and thanks for posting the shots of your former Monza, I wish your current Camaro had some historical tales to tell,,, actually it probably does, but we're talking Pro Stock here!
Take care, Tony,, hope to see you and the guys out there again next season. Danny Durham |
