I don't know a lot about Mopars but I thought the HEMI had cross-bolted main caps? Is there a speed secret to not using them?
thanks, Roland

That's a 383 Hemi, as developed by Charlie Malyuke. It is a 383 block that has been adapted to accept the Hemi heads. The 383 and the Hemi share the same bore dimensions. Ronnie Sox and Dick Landy also ran these blocks in their Pro Omni's.

Steve,
Thanks for the answer. I forgot about these cars being in the old pounds per cubic inch system.

Pretty sure that is Greg Anderson, the pro stock driver. I have photo of the gray Omni/Horizon pro stocker of Hagens that says on the door that Greg is the crew chief.
I will post it soon. They raced at Thunder Valley often.
