I always see the demise of the Taxi referred to as a "pit accident", does anyone have any further info on this? Was it a fire or hit by another car/truck? Can't believe a car that well know gets destroyed and nobody knows what happened, or pictures of it. Always been curious about that story.

Personally, the 70's were the Best for Pro Stock. Many of the pictures you have posted bring back awesome memories.
