We got the car for 'nothing' as crazy as that sounds. Now to find a 'good' Ford Mustang guy to do the work, as I'm a Mopar Head. Going price for a 'mint condition' 1968 'California Special' 289/195 HP - 2V................................................ $30,000 390/325 HP - 4V 'S-Code' 4-Speed............... $45,000+ This 289 went for $30,000 recently. ![]() Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 01-25-2013 at 02:54 PM. |

I have a white 289 2v car, I am the second owner. AC PS PB GT caps on argent wheels. I found the car in 1981 in a local Los Angeles Ford dealers trade in pile. Paid next to nothing for it. I have owned about 25 Mustangs and this one is in my fav 5.

7423,
From what I have found, many of the 1968 'California Special' GT/CS 289 2V and 302 4V cars did not come equipped with the 'GT' Option Package, which also included the GT center caps for the 14" x 6" Steel Wheels. Though they were GT/CS cars, the GT Option Package had to be ordered for the car, at an additional cost of $148 Many came though with the blank Center-Caps (as seen below) and standard 7.35 x 14" tires. ![]() Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 01-26-2013 at 10:55 PM. |
