I was going to recommend either firefox or Chrome, if you want to get rid of the lousy Win 8 desktop try looking for a program called Classic Shell. It will make Win 8 look like win 7. It is free

I have windows 7 using Internet Explorer as well and have been having trouble with the same thing. "waiting on class racer" sometimes I have to just X out of the site and then come back. Took my laptop into the computer shop and they could not find anything wrong with it. It gets very frustrating at times.

I downloaded it and have been using this thing a bunch yesterday and today. What a difference from IE. FAST FAST FAST and no more waiting on stuff. Wish I had found this 6 months ago.
Thank you all again. You guys fixed what 3 different computer shops could not.

Like I said I've had this HP about a month and started have hundreds of pop-up's when using Internet Explorer. Tried everything all the pop-up blockers. Took it to the shop where they loaded all my programs that I wanted on, come to find out it was a virus a new one and major at that. No virus protector used would have protected the computer. The cause was IE. Seems that IE and Windows 8 fight one another. So again I cannot stress and the folks at the shop too, use Mozilla Firefox.....In fact he had high lighted on the invoice the first time to use Mozilla because he installed it and of course I didn't even look at it.....

I picked the computer up yesterday and he tried to explain the above and I can say the only thing I did understand was don't use I E with Windows 8....take care frank

I used this one right here. It was free. Once loaded it will ask some questions as its loading and you are good to go. Was very simple to do. And I know next to nothing about computers and how they work. Hope it works for you too it solved all of my problems that I had been having. My wife loves it too because she does not have to listen to me bitch about my laptop anymore LOL.
