In making the 2014 schedule, I look at the IHRA Division 1, 2, & 9 schedule, NHRA National Schedule and NHRA Division 1 & 2 schedule, to determine available dates for the CCRA to run. The way it looks, March, April, May, and June is pretty booked up. There are a couple of dates, but it will require stacking 3 races in a row between IHRA, NHRA and us. Here is a list of NHRA and IHRA races, March-June:
March 8 & 9-2013 CCRA Finals @ Fayetteville March 13-16 NHRA Nat. Gainesville March 22 -23 OPEN March 28-30 IHRA Div.9 @ Mooresville April 4-6 NHRA Div.1 @ Dinwiddie April 11-13 NHRA Nat. @ Charlotte April 19-20 Easter Weekend April 25-27 IHRA Div.1 @ Richmond May 1-4 NHRA Div.2 @ Atlanta May 10-11 Mothers Day Weekend May 17-19 IHRA Div.9 @ Rockingham May 24-25 OPEN May 30-June 2 IHRA Div.9 @ Piedmont June 6-8 OPEN June 13-16 NHRA Nat. @ Bristol & IHRA Div.1 @ Budds Creek June 20-22 NHRA Div. 2 @ Bristol June 27-29 IHRA Div.9 @ Galot Motorsports Park As you can see, the schedule is pretty full. My question is, How many of you are going to be running the NHRA schedule? If there are a good number of you running the NHRA races, It may be July before we can start our season. I'm looking for input!!!! This is the time to give your thoughts and opinion!!! Whatever the majority decides is what we will do!!! Remember, The goal is to have 30 or more cars at every race CCRA race to have a good purse and to have 50 or more members running for a points championship. I am looking at double race weekends, but the tracks have to be willing to open 2 days straight and paying their employee's. The tracks only make gate money from crew and spectators. It has to be worth their while to open. Again, Your input is needed!!! Thanks Scott Tilley |

Anything further away than Charlotte, Virginia, or Atlanta shouldn't affect CCRA. Bristol maybe but they seem to have small turnout and just a few from this area. Tough to run the index up on the mountain for some of us!

Since points are best 4 of 6, it should be OK to schedule against a points or national event, particularly Gainesville.
