WTF..... enough already, no more, no more. The boat show is this weekend. Even this climatized Canadian has had enough. 3 months straight of consistant snow & brutal cold

That darn "global warming." LOL

"I feel your pain," like the first "man in lieu-of-president" used to say, though not as much. We're supposed to get hit with more snow here in New Jersey sometime late Sunday into Monday. How much, only Mr. Snow knows for sure. Traditionally, the first Sunday in March was always opening day at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ. Doesn't look like it this year.

Seriously, do you ever hear of anyone that retires and moves "north"?
Beaches, all kinds of year round festivals, casinos and of course, Crusin' the Coast had over 7000 registered cars last year. Drag strips everywhere. Great seafood all year.
And its sunny and headed to the 60's (make that 70's) today!

Torture, isn't it?

Always have to bring that up, huh?

Arthur is the first storm name
Bertha is the first ladies name.

Just that knowledge is a bit unsettling!

For the faithfull followers an update:
I sent out ALOT of emails in the last week, with mixed results. One particular contact I've made (thanx M68) is a guy in New York, Lee Quinones, that lives very close to the old Manhatten Speed Shop building. The current buisness, Bronx Automotive is now run by Victor Doto, the son of the originating owner Joe Doto from Manhatten Speed. I have a voice mail in to Victor, just waiting on reply. Of interesting note (again thanx M68) is Nasty Nick of a couple posts back, with the yellow 68? Barracuda. Not only was he sponsored by Manhatten Speed, Lee tells me that Nick was a machinist in the back. So there is promise of him possibly working on the 68 Hemi Dart. I have an old email address to him, so that's high on the "send" list.
Mark Janaky is going a different route with some of his contacts, so, hopefully I'm going to know something either great or not so much great here in the near future.

Altho there is a visual likeness of my car in the early 80's to Jerry Nowacky's Dart from the early 70's, it's not the same car. The Nowaky Dart is confirmed to be Oldfields, & is currently residing in Mn, as per Mark Janaky. (I've gone that route a few years back)

Glad to be of help. I know Lee very well. I met him in Staten Island in the mid-1980s during late night, unsanctioned acceleration trials. He was the official starter.

He's also famous for his artwork, an actor, and Mopar guy too.*

Why am I not surprised you know Lee. Sounds like a great, great guy that is very willing to help me out. He's pumped!!!. I too googled him a few days back & was absolutley astounded at his life accomplishments. Anyone who reads this you have to check him out at the below links. Love his sinister 65 also. I asked him if it had a Hemi? his reply was no,...but it sounds like one.
He hasn't mentioned anything about that picture to me yet. Hmmmm, wonder if theres any connexion between that silver Dart in the painting to the silver Hemi Dart out of Manhatten Speed................?????? A question that needs to be asked for sure!!
The street racing scene there at the time was very serious, with muchos $$$$$$ changing hands in these brawls. Race cars like the ex S&K Speed Shop,Brooklyn Heavy, Mutt Brothers Hemi Dart driven by Ronald Lyles along with an ex S&M BO29 barracuda made appearances. I've read a couple articles done durring that time.WOW!!!
Neat Cheet man!!!.
I'd look for links, but running out of time right now. If anyone cares to.....

gottago

From a few recent months where it seemed as though everything was stalled, now it feels like you're getting deeper into the scene where the history of your Dart may be hidden.

Turning over one stone at a time.
