My favorite, just in case I have not posted that enough times:

Daryl, you should really get you a set of these rims for your Dart. And maybe an old Div.4 "Good Guys" sticker too.

Daryl & I discussed the Manhatten Speed parts lettering on the silver Dart. I would not be at all surprised that there is no connection with the shop. In those days it was pretty common to get parts for free (plugs, oil, points, ect...) and put their name on the car. It looks like the lettering is done with, for lack of a better description, masking tape- so it would appear to be temporary. High profile and local race - Super Stock Nationals this could be a very real possibility. The other thing is the car was probably repaired and repainted sometime after this race - possibly a different color. If anyone has a copy of the 1968 S/S Nats program it would be interesting to see if there is an entry list - not sure if they included them like the NHRA programs. I am working on locating a few old racers from NYC from this time period to see what they remember.

Thank you for reinterating what I said in a few posts back.

You might want to check with Mike Goyda.* He has lots of rare and hard to find material for
sale. Unfortunately at this time he only has the 1966 and 1970 Super Stock Nationals programs in stock.

Still, it doesn't hurt to call and ask if these programs have a list of entrants same an NHRA national event program before going down this path any further.

Did you contact Chuck Comella? He's originally from the NYC area. He bought his Hemi Dart brand new from a local Dodge dealership. There's a good chance he may know about this car. Hemi Darts weren't just sold to anybody that came in off the street--unless the dealer just wanted to get rid of the car. The guy(s) who purchased Daryl's Dart had to have a previous racing record to qualify them.

Sorry if this is repeat information, but in 2005 Hot Rod Magazine put out as part of their "Collector's Archive Series" a publication titled "Mopar - Rare Vintage Photos '62 - '72". Starting on p.68 there is a special Hemi Dart & Cuda section. They claim to have photos of 27 Darts and 26 Cudas taken in 1968 and 1969. On page 73 is the shot of the Manhatten Speed Parts Dart vs the Ed Miller Cuda at New York National Speedway.

Yes it has - it has been shown on this thread in it's original paint and talked about in it's current state. Clue - Rod Shop lettering on the front fender.
