Maurice,,, a '66 Chevy II Super stocker?? You better bring that thing down to Bremerton at the end of this month for the National Open race, since everything has been pushed back for Mission Raceway, with their problems up there.
Actually, quite a few Mission racers came down to Pacific and Bremerton last weekend for some racing. It was great to see some different cars,,, especially the BC Supershifters taking on the local stick shift racers. Dave Barcelon's beautiful, brand new '67 Chevy II SS/H car did very well against the other gear bangers there. Danny Durham |

Danny…The car belongs to Gordon Merkley, he will be returning to Super Stock with the Chevy II. After the sale of his 66 SS/F Chevelle to it's new owner in Sweden, racing just hasn't been the same. Oddly enough turns out the Chevy II is the same colour as the Big Blue Chevelle. It currently has a Powerglide, but there is some extreme pressure coming from the local stick guys (I guess the clutchless 1-2 shift just isn't enough for them). His D/S 302 68 Camaro is currently being converted to a "401" head 396-375 with a G-force and Youngblood. I'm still poking at my SS/EA Nova with limitations after my surgery. There's a lot of fun on the horizon...MB.
