Thanks fellas...I picked that color because there were only 2% of those cars painted Sierra Fawn from GM in 1967. You probably can't tell in the pictures, but the finish is kind of splotchy in places due to the build-up of the metallic particles in random passes. I'm sure it is due to my lack of experience in spray gun control and never having sprayed a metallic paint before. I really hope to be able to re-do at least the sides of the car at some point in time.

Well,, since it IS a class car,,I'd just go ahead and buff the sides out once more, then put your decals back on, tastefully of course, and go racing. The contingency stickers will distract the eye from any "splotchy places" you're referring to. I think it looks great, Rich, but if you're going to eventually run decals on the car, don't beat yourself up over it,, go out and enjoy it. My 2 cents.

Is this the car that Donnie Beeler had for sale a while back?

Yes, it's been a couple of years ago now.

Just got home from the track this evening from the car's first outing since the teardown and new motor install. It was a tuning exercise from hell with the new QuickFuel carb and intake...and it is far from over lol. Long story short is the motor only ran a best of 7.43 with 60' times around 1.55.

Now the good news...I managed to win the E.T. bracket race with this junk lol. It was the same scenario as our last final at US43 shortly before the teardown...somehow I managed to pull a horseshoe out of my butt cheeks again. Seems the worse our junk runs the more intense I become on the starting line. I wasnt beat on the tree in any round and every single round was won on the starting line. My partner was so happy I think he completely forgot what a dog of a motor he had haha.

Just a theory on my part atm, but I believe that Team G intake might just be too much for this motor's heads and camshaft. I'm thinking if I bolt the Stocker's manifold and our good Q-jet on this 327 it would really wake it up...may test this theory out Oct. 11 at a 3K no box race. At any rate it felt great being back at the track again finally.

Donny Turner's immaculate E/SA '67 Camaro. I hope I can build our motor to run close to what his beautiful machine is capable of.

Thumbs up Re: '67 Camaro E/SA redo

Hey Rich, I finally had the chance to check my photo "archives" and found 2 pictures of the "Gold-Rush" Camaro I mentioned in an earlier post. In the effort to convert them from .pdf to .jpeg format they lost the color, but I will assure you that it's the same color that you used to re-paint your Camaro. In the Oct.'69 picture there is a 1960 Impala that my Dad & I raced back in the day. Jr. Stock Eliminator back then as k/sa. Loved that ole' car. Was undefeated in class competition 3 years straight. Thanks for bringing back good memories. I'm going to work on the picture format when I have a minute and if I can get them back to color, I'll re-post.
Take care Sir.
Walt

Thanks for the pics Walt. I had an idea at one point of lettering the sides of the car with the name of "Gold Digger"...I may still do it sometime.
