Launch rpm for F/S. 396 ,325hp ?
What should I be leaving at ? I 've only tried it once at 4500 rpm an it spun to a 1.78 60 ft. I have 2.98 1st gear,538 rear gears. 30x9 hoosier radials, 8 inch wheels .caltrac springs and bars. Any advice would be great I'm new to stick cars.

Most people have a terrible time hooking up radial slicks on a stick car.
We ran Hoosier bias ply tires on the G/S Camaro we had. What front springs and shocks are you using? What bushings and ball joints? What clutch system are you using?

I strongly suggest that you talk to Mcleod tomorrow about a complete Soft-Lok setup for your car. http://www.mcleodracing.com/index.ph...l?options=cart You can spend more money, and you might be a little quicker. But most are best off with the Mcleod Soft-Lok.

Your running a 5.38 rear gear with a 325 hp BB Camaro stocker? To even try to get radials to work on a stick car you would need low clutch press. I would run a M/T bias stick tire with that combo. gsa612

Most stick racers are running the same tire Jim stated, it is a stick tire. I don't think anyone in Stock has had success making a Radial work. Is this a new clutch? Did it come from Tim Hyatt? Or did you buy it from Jegs or Summit? Base pressure should be less than 300.

With your setup, leave at an idle, or around 2500. You might have a chance then. Need to go to a bias stick tire when you wear yourself out with the radial. Then you will find it easier to make the car work. Good luck

The 30x9 Hoosier stick bias ply slick in D07 compound should work well. I have gotten decent results with a South Bend clutch, iron disc, borg and beck pressure plate--not as refined nor adjustable as the soft locker stuff, but inexpensive and works if the right clamp load is put into the pressure plate. You need a little slip in the clutch and have to run the sintered iron facing with fairly low clamp load to get the slip. Other facings, organic, kevlar, brass ceramic, won't hold up.

The rear shocks for a stick are going to need to be set tight and not loose. I would unload the radials, as they are just a waist of your time and the money with fuel and trying to learn a clutch setup. You can make the Ram clutch work unless it has the cast iron CW levers and is not a low base pressure unit. But those can be replaced with a lighter billet lever. Just need more info on the clutch to be able to help. Tire pressure and suspension settings are going to be completely different than an automatic setup.
