2015 ccra schedule

The 2015 CCRA schedule is as followed.
March 21st at VMP. Quarter mile one day race.
May 16th and 17 at Galot formerly known as Benson. This is a double eighth mile race.
June 27th and 28th at Galot. Double eighth mile race.
Oct 10th and 11th at VMP. Double quarter mile race.
Oct. 18th at Piedmont eighth mile one day race.
The schedule may see small changes towards the end of the race season but this is where we stand as of today.

We will count the best 5 of 8 races for the 2015 points championship. Sponsorship will be increased this year with 8 race sponsors and 8 associate race sponsors. The race sponsors will be the title sponsor for that race with their logo on the winning trophy. The associate sponsors logo will be on the runner up plaque. A race sponsorship is $400 which pays for the winning trophies and the remaining amount applied towards points fund. The associate sponsor is $200 which pays for the runner up plaque with remaining amount applied towards point fund. We are also in the process of adding yearly crew passes for our sponsors but cant guarantee that yet. No Fayetteville ? A track that has accommodated and supported CCRA since day 1.

I put underneath schedule that their will be changes towards the end of the schedule and Fayetteville has been in my mind the entire time just haven't got with Fonz yet.

Schedule update the VMP race in October has been changed to Oct. 3rd and 4th.

So if Fayetteville is added on at the end of the year, that means it would be a non-points race? Am I understanding this correctly?

Couple of options are a Saturday at Galot Sunday at Fayetteville if schedules can work out, or another fall race with points going to 6 of 9 races, or making one of our doubles a single and keeping it 5 of 8. We have been working on a lot of ideas just wanted to have some information out there so our members know we are doing everything in our powers to continue to grow our association.

Any of the above 3 options are only allowing 1 single event at Fayetteville Motorsports Park. It's sad to see that it has come to this. FMSP has been a track that has supported this association from it's origination & has pulled money out of their own pockets to feed the racers at 2 different events in the same year (what other track has done that). Yes Galot is going to be one top notch facility but there is no guarantee on their definite opening date & now they have 4 races at their track. Piedmont & FMSP has always been the tracks that have drawn the biggest crowds for CCRA action & for 2015 Piedmont only has 1 race & FMSP with 0. The association is called Carolina Class Racers Association but Virginia has 3 races on schedule. If FMSP was an option for the 2015 racing season, they should have been notified about a date before any schedule was released.

I'm sure there are some racers that have the same concerns that I do & I'm sure there are others that are just going to go with the flow & attend whatever races they can. I did the CCRA (almost solely by myself in 2012) so yes I know what it takes to run this association & this is why I'm addressing my concerns.

INCORRECT!... The CCRA started at Roxboro Dragway with Mr. Carpenter's support! AND there were very few times we saw the Fayetteville regulars ever support it.

The important thing here is to try and support the races that we have. Fayetteville would be nice but it really doesn't matter to me as all of them are a tow for me but I will go to the ones that I can. Keep up the good work Jeff and Tracy, it's a tough job and I for one appreciate your efforts. Let's not forget this thing nearly could have folded last year if these two hadn't stepped up.

I don't think this galot deserves 4 races. our last races there at dunn benson. were down on carcounts compared to fayetteville which has been faithful to the CCRA. I suggest moving 2 races south. Unless galot is kickin n some extra monies !!!
