The only problem I see with the air box is the limited (3"X6") inlet vs a 360 degree surface area of a conical filter at the end of the tube such as Jerry's car. As far as heated air ingestion from the filter location vs the somewhat isolated air box...I suppose in the end it will probably be a wash in terms of performance. There appears to be no hard and fast rule regarding induction plumbing when it comes to these efi cars judging from previous posts.

Evan Smith's car runs hard and he has been running it for a long time. Maybe you could pm him and see what he thinks.

Spent the day tying up loose ends. Added a quick release steering wheel...what a difference it makes easing entry/exit. Fuel lines run and secured. Next is mounting the fuel cell and weight boxes.
