Some builders prefer the C4 by default because from what I can gather they are just used to building them. But, again, there's really no difference between a C4 and C5 other than some case improvements. From what I see the C5 seems to be a better transmission. I'm building a K/SA for my son, and will be using one. Follow up: There may be some other differences. Going out for the day, but I'll take a closer look when I get back. Nevertheless, you should look into them. Last edited by SSGT Mustang; 03-15-2015 at 11:30 AM. |

Not to take this thread off topic... Question, What years and models was the C5 trans used ? Also, any visual markings or way to indentify them once removed from the vehicle? I would like to have a couple of good cores under the bench just in case..... Thanks ,

May be unrelated, but I seem to remember reading at one time Ford used, or was planning to use a sensor running off either the flywheel or rear crank flange to read a signal from. Possibly that is what that hole was for, acsess for a sensor?

I need to purchase a flexplate and have noticed two different configurations for a C4...one with a single step and the other with a dual step. What/why the difference and which do I need?
