On the flex plate make sure you have the right size bolt circle pattern to match your converter.

The block plate on my Ford Racing 302 for GT/MA is one of the multi-fit deals. Looks like this:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/pma-pa26445/overview/ I have a TCI trans and flex plate that haven't seen the track yet. The flex plate (157 tooth) looks nice and strong but I had a lot of quality control issues with the C4. The case wouldn't fit the transbrake solenoid they sold me (push in solenoid, threaded case) and the piston in the foreword shift solenoid had a huge chip in it. I replaced the whole shift solenoid with a Performance Auto unit. The pan provided with it wasn't a flush fit and leaked like a sive. Had to replace that with a Moroso pan. For these reasons they won't be getting any future business from me. PA and others sell "heavy duty" pump gaskets. They are worth the extra buck or two. $20, actually. I put an SFI bell housing on my motor and have a new stock 157 tooth one here I don't need. Send me a PM if you're interested. Shipping+cheap... James - Most of the 157T flexplates sport a 10-1/2" bolt pattern, right? Seems I have seen some of the Ford convertors that use studs instead of the usual pads for attachment...guess I will just have to wait and see.
Dale - I'll be in touch about that bellhousing. Thanks! I too was kind of leary about some of the transmission builders out there...I would have preferred Arnett did one for me. Did a lot of research and questioning before giving Dynamic Transmission the go ahead.

Oh joy...not enough clearance between the balancer and the pump outlet for a hose. Stock balancer was 6.250" diameter where the new one is 6.5". This Ford is going to kill me before I figure it all out. Found a SFI Pioneer balancer 6.1" that should solve the problem...same 50 oz balance so it should not affect the engine balance.
![]() Anyway, I have the balancer, flexplate, transmission and alternator on the way. The only remaining item is the torque convertor.
