Reading Class Racer for the first time in a while. We got to see some old friends and meet some new people on our way to catch up with the rest of the crew. We would visit most of the day and then drive until bed time.
After seeing the picture of me behind the wheel of the rig, I understand the question a little better "who drives your race car ?" Man do I look experienced. All of this reminds me of a poster I saw. The poster had a 1969 SS Camaro with stripes and a vinyl top with the caption "Did you ever wonder what your mom saw in your dad". It was a cool poster!!! Joe is having a generator issue and him and Alice are having it fixed today and will catch up with us in Holbrook Az. tonight. I was just informed by Patsy that they may catch up with earlier. Not only did they have gen set troubles but the real issue that required an immediate fix is the coffee pot died. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Being on the road and in the NHRA "circus" for a short time gives new meaning to just how difficult it must be for the pro sportsman drivers. Rampy, Fletcher, and the rest of the pros lead a difficult life that is not for the faint of heart. The cars fall apart in the trailer, the road is always unforgiving and dangerous. The friends, the fun, the competition , and the win lights make it worth it for me! more later Last edited by Larry Hill; 10-22-2015 at 11:00 AM. |

For all of you headed this way, Route 66 Casino is a good place to stay overnight. It is at Exit 140 on I-40. Just follow the signs to RV parking past the casino. Lots of parking behind the hotel. Decent food and a little fun time in the casino! Also diesel fuel is $2.35 at the station next door.
We should have more pics tonight as we are doing a little site-seeing today! More later |

Larry, That's a good picture of ya. Gotta put it all into perspective.
How about when you talk to old acquaintances..."YOU still race cars?" Hey, if you have time, take the old section of Rt 66 into Kingman. Az. Exit 139, just past Ash Fork . Seligman is a hoot. You'll see visitors from all over the world.

Larry - You have proven yourself many times in your racer and are very experienced driving your rig. That said it seems I have the art you describe hanging in my office - neat deal for sure .Didn't know you liked Camaros ..........

![]() ![]() Well all of us gypsies are back on the road. The Marshalls and the Hills both waited on us to have some repairs made to our generator. Our next door neighbor at the casino, came over this morning with a fresh pot of hot coffee (that would be the Saturn racing big guy...Larry) for us before we left to go to a 7:00 am appointment to check out our generator. (Was that first class or what?) But, one fuel filter later and a few hours we were back on I-40 WEST. Friends are so terrific. Our destination today is Holbrook, AZ. Stay tuned. Alice |

Mr Jeff, if it's the stuff he is known for they might never make the races and probably wouldn't care. But I bet they would have had fun!!!!!
