I was assuming your Chevelle was a stock front clip car , that's why I mentioned it .
I've seen it happen a few times. Like Topless said ,If you can keep it down low ,it should not be a problem

A friend of mine took the front spoiler off his AA/SA 1st gen Camaro and picked up almost a tenth in et.
