Default Advice on Travel Vegas to Brainard

Leaving Friday to deliver car to Brainard from Vegas.

Any thoughts on route to take for best weather hauling
enclosed both ways. I am not much of a bad weather driver!

Thanks for any advise

I imagine 70 would be awful this late in year.

John
I would not take 70

I15 North to I80 across Wyoming
Watch the weather on Interstate forecast map
Next week looks good...just cold

I take the I80 route when I go back

John, I do not have any recommendations outside of Minnesota other than monitor the weather closely. I live two hours south of Brainerd if you need a place to park and stay/ sleep before or after the transfer. Enjoyed your friendship and hospitality a few years back at The Strip. Sounds like you found a buyer for the Aspen wagon if I am guessing right? Didn't forget about it...just have been preoccupied. Glad to hear someone in Minnesota is getting a nice car. Let me know your plans.

I sold Jr.'s Super Street Aspen......I am still hanging onto both Wagons for now.
O/SA went around .93 under last week (12.21)at finals in very careful mode so
I am hanging on to it.

There is no halfway direct route to get there.
This time of year I'd take I-80 to Des Moines, I-35 to Minneapolis and US-169 to state 18.

John,

I would take I 15 to Salt Lake, I 80 to Omaha, NE and then get on I 29 through IA and SD up to the Whapeton/Breckenridge exit in ND and then head east. A whole lot less traffic on I 29, no major cities to deal with.

We go I-40 to 54 At tucumcari then on to 35N @ wichita all the way to Minneapolis. A little less chance of weather and not so much climbing. Went 80 to Salt Lake on the way out to LV this year. Probably wont go again..The route I describes has a couple of hundred miles of 2 lane but reasonably ok.

Snowing now in northeast NE 4 to 6 hear more to the east to I29, clear tomorrow cold, nothing to much south to I 80 Should be out of here by the time you would be here. Not a bad way what Curt said SD has a 80 mph speed limit on the interstate. Update 3 pm don't come this way roads sucks. Tom

John,

PC Miler for trucks runs I-15 up to Idaho Falls, then takes Route 20 to West Yellowstone, and then Rte. 191 up to Bozeman. From there I-90 East to I-94 East. I have never been on 20 or 191, but they look a bit sketchy. 1715 miles.
