coronet tire size

I have a 66 Coronet street car and the widest tire I can get on it is 9 inches. If you roll the wheel lip you will gain just about an inch. I think stock eliminator limits you to 10 inches any way.
The weird thing about my car and I have talked to others with 66-67 Coronets, is the tire clearance on the right side is less than on the left side. Obviously an engineering oops.
I don't know if you are allowed to move the leaf springs inward in stock eliminator, but I think that would be the ticket to better clearance if allowed.
