just thought of another way to remove rust on small parts--antique guys use white Vinegar-Vinegar is really a very weak acid----soak it overnite fully submerged---depending on how bad the stuff is might take a time or 2 to do it---DOES NOT remove paint or other crud just rust then rinse with water and blow dry or put it in the oven or sunlight to heat it up and dry any moisture you might have missed in the blow drying
