Because racers & crew have become the profit center, not Spectators.
Have to spend money to promote races to get spectators. Just open the gates and racers will come.

Me neither Ken....at Orlando, a FAN pays 40 bucks for a 2 day pass while a CREW member pays 60 bucks for the same 2 day pass....2 DAYS ....!!!...
Looks as though some of these tracks are pricing themselves out of spectators,,,,ask the NCAA and college basketball how exorbitant ticket prices are working out for them....Some fans have had ENOUGH..... |

The fan has a choice to come to the races or not. For the most part, the crew members are part of the cost of going racing and an extra $20 there isn't going to stop us.
Not that I endorse this thinking!
