Another key to understanding the NHRA Rulebook is
that certain classes “build” from another.

When the Rulebook states “Requirements and Specifications for
… are the same as those for ...” you must read the referenced
section first.

If after reading the Rulebook you still have questions, consult
page xiv for hours and phone numbers where tech personnel
may be reached. These phone lines are extremely busy, so
prepare your questions in advance.

Remember, it is your responsibility to follow the standards in this Rulebook that pertain to your vehicle

AND

SECTION 12
SUPER STOCK

Requirements and specifications for all
Super Stock categories are the same
as those for Stock Cars - Section 10A -
with the following exceptions:

PS:

You got some bad and incorrect info from some of the people who responded to your post. It is your responsibility to make your racecar legal.

My suggestion would be for you to read the rulebook completely starting at page 1 to help you better understand the process.

And IMHO, the rulebook is intentionally vague and confusing...

I get it Billy and I don't disagree ...…

I think that between the 2 of us we have been doing this for over a hundred years....

You have to learn for to walk before you learn how to run....

Starting out getting tossed is not a good thing...

My big problem is people advising him that don't have the background..

Taking a conservative approach to the rulebook might not be a bad thing until you find out what's going on...

It's better to know what is legal and what's not..

Take care..

I think we spoke before about your combo. A while back. There are plenty of guys that build legal carbs that would make it a bit easier. Pm me & maybe I can point you in the right direction.

As a builder of Drag Race Thermoquads for over 40 years I can tell you the rule that you must have a choke plate in Stock and Super Stock has never changed! I wish it had! Would make my job a bit easier and the carbs a little faster. Jim

Back some years ago at Sonoma. Nat'l....Westley bounced me in Tech for having bent my choke rod a bit so it did not restrict my primary Air Flow so much.

He then rechecked it in line before first round to make sure the bends were
exactly correct!

Now if they'll just turn Wesley loose, make his word final, and give him the necessary resources........
