For no surprises check lifter size with mike and bore size with bore gauge or telescoping gauge. If they used a ball brush hone, all that happened was the surface got scratch and bores got bigger.

www.lifterboretools.com has a kit for most popular V8 engines to sleeve lifer bores with bronze bushings. Not only restores your lifter bore to correct tolerance, but can restrict excessive oil flow. Kits have a reamer, install tool and bronze lifter bore bushings.
