Tom Kasch posted lots of pics & lists in the Nostalgia Stock/SS section. I may have already posted some of the lists. But, I'm not gonna comb back thru the entire thread to see.
This 1st list is of nat records in '82. Jack Matyas had the low ET record in O/SA, with his '74 Ventura. Larry Maxwell had the mph record, with his '74 GTO. http://classracer.com/classforum/sho...48&postcount=1 In '83, Kevin Thomas held the low ET record in N/S, in a '74 Lemans. Only '74 stick Lemans Stocker I remember reading about. http://classracer.com/classforum/sho...57&postcount=2 |

In '79, Pontiacs held a few nat records.
Fred Moore & Bob Maxey held the SS/JA mph record in a '73 SD455 Bird. Roy & Mike McKinney held the E/S nat record, in their '68 Bird. Both M/S & N/S records were held by '74 Venturas. Rock Running held the E/SA ET record, in his '71 455HO Lemans http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=73444 Last edited by oldskool; 11-13-2021 at 03:10 PM. |

In '68, some of the old Pontiacs still held nat records in several Stock classes.

Kevin Thomas’s car was a 74 gto, not a Lemans. It was purchased from Buddy King from Plainfield, In who held the record in m/s previously. Kevin sold the car to Mike McDonald (his first 74 gto). Kevin was from Petersburg, In.

They made a misprint. Had it listed as a Lemans. Guessing there are LOTS of mistakes in old NHRA records. BY the way, any pics ya'll can add of any of the cars mentioned in this thread will be appreciated. Also, any current contact info for any of those who actually raced these cars might help us get more info and/or pics. As with other brands, most of these old cars have been passed down & raced by several different owners. Last edited by oldskool; 02-17-2020 at 02:24 PM. |

In '75, Mick Leiferman held the G/SA record with his '71 GTO. His name was spelled Mike, on the list.
Charlene Wood held the I/SA record, with the Tons-A-Fun '72 Lemans wagon. Her name was spelled Sharleen, on the list. http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=75477 Last edited by oldskool; 02-18-2020 at 03:39 PM. |
