Yakima STK/SS Combo Races - October 10 & 11, 2020
Go to the track web site: http://www.renegaderaceway.com/ Please read and fill out the online waiver before arriving at the track. Please read the Health & Safety protocols on the web site prior to arriving. Masks are required to be worn at the track. Race Notes: All racing will be 1/4 mile. Track fully prepped each day. NO Friday night test & tune. Friday parking until 8:00 PM. Renegade 110 race gas is available at the track for $12 per gallon. See Butch at the head of the staging lanes. One race each day Saturday and Sunday, likely 2 qualifying runs, then eliminations. Want more seat time? Enter No Box for more hits at the tree and more run data. This is it folks, the last class race of the year in the Northwest. Haven't had your car out at all or only hit one or two races this year? Load up and come over for a fun weekend. Going to Las Vegas? Join your fellow racers and get some seat time before heading south. Last year we talked about raising the entry fee to $100 to increase the payout. The support for this idea was near unanimous. The track manager chose to keep the entry fee at $50. We are proposing that if everyone puts $50 in the pot, we will add this to the track purse and pay $1,500 to win with a minimum of 20 cars. More cars will increase runner up and semi-final payouts. It has been a challenging year to say the least. Here is your chance to have some fun and support a track that is doing its part to support class racing. If I can answer any questions email me at: lmerk606@gmail.com or call my cell: 509-366-3735. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Re: Yakima Combo dbl header
Hope to see everyone this weekend. Anyone have a forecast for temps and such. I am showing mid 60's on Saturday and a little cooler on Sunday.
Should be a great weekend. Let's all go and have fun.

Re: Yakima Combo dbl header
Last year we all more or less pitted together in the back corner which was kind of nice. It also helped with keeping track of qualifying and ladders. Are we going to do that again this year?

Don't know for sure about pit plans, but Derek usually likes to have groups pit together for convenience, so there is a good chance it will be the same. See you Saturday.

Re: Yakima Combo dbl header
Yakima Stock / Super Stock Combo Results
We had 15 cars in attendance. The weather forecast probably kept some from attending. 1/8 mile racing caused a few more to stay home. Saturday 10-10-2020 The track announced on Friday that all racing on Saturday would be 1/8 mile. After several hours of rain in the morning, the rain finally stopped and track drying started. And then the wind started blowing - HARD, 20-25 MPH crosswind. We got one qualifying run completed and a massive dust storm blew in which stopped all racing for a short time. There was so much dirt in the air that it was going through air filters. Many do not run an air filter and were concerned about engine damage. The combo racers had a short meeting and voted to stop combo racing for the day. The track manager agreed to roll the Saturday purse over and add it to the Sunday purse. Sunday 10-11-2020 The plan was for 1/4 mile racing on Sunday but the track manager switched to 1/8 mile. Clear skies overnight and a very cold 34 degree morning. Frost on some car windows. Weather forecast was for rain anywhere from 2 to 4 PM. All categories got one time trial / qualifying run and eliminations started. We started round 2 about 2:30 PM. The first 2 pairs of combo cars went down the track and it started to sprinkle a few raindrops. Racing stopped and they called the safety truck at the top end of the rack and he reported no rain. So the next two pair of cars ran completing the round. Those were the last cars down the track as it started to rain. After about 20-30 minutes a drivers meeting was called by the track manager and the race was ended. The four remaining combo racers split the $2,500 track purse. Congrats to Gary Gandee, Ryan Warter, Cal Method, and Joe Sorenson. Thanks to all the racer who attended.
