Farewell Commander...
George Frayne AKA Commander Cody has died of cancer. Originally from Boise, then Ann Arbor, and then Berkeley CC fused Rock , Country, and Western Swing in the early 70's ,and opened for The Eagles and many others. Known primarily for his third major incarnation of Hot Rod Lincoln ,from 1955,.he introduced the song to a whole new generation. RIP

Speaking of cover versions..I thought CC's version of Hot Rod Lincoln was just a so-so version...
