Default Pro vs Sportsman Ladder

Why does Stock / SS use a sportsman ladder?

Because the number 1 qualifier would race the last qualifier. It would be advantageous to be the last qualifier so you could get a potential bye run.
This was tried years ago and it didn't work out too well. One guy would try and lift at the 60 ft to be last, and he would get beat out by the guy who lifted at 50 ft to be last.
If there was a rule that you must run on or under your index to qualify, then it might be interesting.

Possibly because Stock and Super Stock are still considered Sportsman classes? To be honest, since most Stock s/s races are handicapped, I don`t see how a Pro ladder would make much difference, position manipulation games would still be played.
