Default tuning chips

I was very saddened to just learn that Ed wright had passed. He was a great racer and friend. He was my Go To guy, and I had bought a tuning chip from him a couple of years ago for a Pontiac GTA. I just acquired a nice 99 firebird 6 cylinder street car for my son, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a performance tune that could be easily installed. I was looking at maybe one of the OBD-2 units which might be the best way to go in this situation to pick it up some. thanks

We have always used Hypertech tuners in
our Camaro bracket cars years ago.
Moving the rev limiter and shift points up
helps some. Plus leaning out the engine and
cooling down the fans speeds (That is what
I recall).

My boy dusted off his LS1 Camaro (only 20,000 miles on it) that
was his 14th Birthday Presentand won the LS fest in Vegas
this year with it 12.8 @112 with the hypertech and drag radials.

I have a stack of them in the Garage getting dusty and I "think"
the same year and model fits both 6 and 8 cylinder.
I am not a Chevy guy by any means!

HP tuners do not make a unit for the 3800 engine, but I did find one at PCT (performance chip tuning) that is just what we were looking for in their Stage 2 performance chip. simple plug and play. This unit actually works on both the V8 or V6. They were very helpful.
