Mark is right. It is .5 under the index to set a record. W/SA, for example, has an index of 16.65. The minimum is 16.15. So if I wanted to set a record, I'd need to make 1 run of 16.149 or quicker and then another run within the range to count as a backup in order to reset the record from minimum.

I'm questionning myself regarding the word "minimum" here.
The way I see it, if you make a run at 16,15 with a back up run in the range, you will have the record, It's the minimum required. |

Charlie,
To me it looks like if a record is to be put in the books it is going to have to be .5 quicker than the index. I never have seen the word Maximum so I would assume (yep I know what that does) a 1.30 or quicker run gets you in the books, but costs you.. Back to assuming... AHFS probably has a little something to do with the lack of record setting.

If you had a bunch of gaskets and don't mind a lot of work you could paper a wall with records. Go .55 under wait a couple weeks then go.60under then a couple more and go .65 and so on. LOL It sure would be good practice .

Bracket 2 has invaded Stock n SS just like our borders are invaded !! There's no goin back to the "performanced " based Class !! That is on its last breathe's as everyone got their chest pumped out doin whatever they want !! With their bracket 2 S/SS "cars" No need to go n break or set records when the MASSES don't even know what they are or what it takes to be the standard of the class !! NHRA realizes this n won't print anything about it because it's a moot point in bracket 2 !! WTF !!
