Everything i saw looked great and i cant wait to get to one. Definitely gonna try the galot race. As far as the tv coverage goes it was the best i have seen. It was like watching on tv and very well produced and put together. The fact they interviewed the sportsman winners and showed them some love was great. The coverage was 10x better then flo and 100x better than nhratv.
I was very skeptical about the whole thing but i think they are off to a great start ep |

No, the first crack at it they had a couple indexes wrong and Andy Kronenbitter and myself went up in the tower to get it corrected. IHRA uses NHRA indexes and adds .3 to them. They had some with IHRA, some with NHRA indexes. They were super tankful we told them and appreciated the help.

Everybody is talking about low car court at this event, on the west coast it is a sad state at this point, the quota for Sonoma is 60, the race is in 2 weeks and 22 cars have register.

Next up...maybe IHRA can get a robust contingency program put together, take care of sponsors and don't abuse them, and really add to what a trip to the final round amounts to.

Still sitting at Woodburn today relaxing thanks to a track with great hospitality (I thank them for huge), and having some time to look at some data.
Just looking at NHRA Stock National points standings only so far, knowing how gray haired our ranks are in the majority (I am 1 of those), and looking at the 2025 season so far (694 Stk racers so far this season start to 7/15/2025, have run at least 1 national or divisional event so far. Then I broke up thestandings in the following manner top 10 (account for 85 total Stock event entries so far), then top 15 (125), and so on by every 5 up to the 150th spot in current standings (1,168) total so far for just that limited group alone Just counting all Nat/Div entries (including doubles as 2 entries). That is by far not everyone (just a sample of the total 694 in the list of those having raced 1 or more, but the largest sample. Some have up to 13-14 events competed in so far, though it is a minority. Many have traveled very far, far from home and back again to continue competing in their home divisions. Some coast-to-coast & back like the points leader and been very productive. While Double Div. Events are really tough on the still working crowd (and for aged father/younger son/daughter, and other working families), in the category (no doubt there)...The many in the top 150 currently seem to not only be taking advantage of the doubles, but also combining them with the National events either before/after nearby or same event venue/area tracks and many rewarded for doing so (beyond savings in fuel costs, etc.). Many also this year have never even left their home div. yet this year and still been quite productive. Weather (Rain, Wind, Sun, Severe), is all having its way with all of us. But, it shows that some love the doubles, and chase them even more if the Nationals also overlap before or after same track or nearby (saving at least some fuel costs and driving, by not going out and back 3 times to catch/enter 3 events). Myself, just started over gaining data at different elevation tracks out of div., as I now have the ability to tune, racking up some grade points, see what the car likes and does not (low temps, low elevation), and racing while Div. 7 is dead as a door nail come June to Mid-Sept....(From the high and windy Grand Junction, CO, to sea level Woodburn and Pacific Raceway, and Bremerton during a 37 day trip to Div.6, racing every single weekend both Stk 2 doubles/1 nat, and a total of 5 days of bracket racing between Woodburn/Bremerton. At least I am helping w/the car counts on the west coast and gaining that data. The racing is being done, those top 150 are entering lots of races as are the other 500 Stock racers. There is just a lot of events annually offered. People have choices in many places, others have fewer choices and fuel costs money.

Decent turnout at Woodburn but for Seattle there?s only 29 stockers and 25 super stockers (with other classes also low)?remember Bandimere having some pretty low numbers but don?t recall Seattle and Sonoma being this low. The west coast is certainly in a precarious situation and NHRA has certainly played a role in that so thinking IHRA may have played a winning hand in keeping east of the Mississippi alive and well.
