Post Super Chevy Maple Grove

Dave, Gloria, Russ and Bill.

Thanks for what the ECSS/S Association does for us!

Dave put a lot of effort into getting Super Stock and Stock recognized as a value to the Super Chevy Show.

NO ONE treats SS/S as we were treated this past weekend.
The track was prepped before EVERY SESSION.
Swept, Dragged and Sprayed.
We ran in FRONT of the Pro Mods, Jets and Wheel Stander.
Parking was prime.
$60.00 entry with guaranteed $1500.00 to the winner! Even though there were 22 entries. Where will you find that?

This was one of the best run events with over 700 race cars to get down track.

The owners of Super Chevy are getting together looking to bring SS/S to all Super Chevy events around the country. The value of our show has been recognized for what it is: A car show and fast cars and great racing. They are looking to work with all regional SS/S associations to bring their members in as a featured eliminator in the main show.

There were a handful of families, young racers and aspiring racers who stopped and asked questions. This is another opportunity to participate in and bring new awareness to SS/S through a nationally recognized venue.

All GM Super Stock and Stock racers around the country should take a serious look when Super Chevy Show is in your region.

Thanks again to Dave, Gloria, Russ and Bill, the Management and Staff of Maple Grove Raceway and Super Chevy for a great weekend of racing and exposure of Stock and Super Stock Racing.

Next year with more support we should have 50 - 60 cars.
Super Chevy appreciates what we have to offer and welcomes our participation.

I want to thank the outstanding job done by the people working the race from the starting line to pit control. A few tweaks with communication needed but a great job done by all given the conditions. With the race a Beaver Springs the weekend before and then this event At Maple Grove it was a very good 2 weekends of drag racing. Looking forward to it for next year. When this show is near you please attend, you won't be sorry.

Jimmy, thanks for the photos.

I can tell you guys that Super Chevy editor, Jim Campisano, who was at the event, has pushed for a Stock/Super Stock show, and will be trying to do more at the remaining events. It seems that with the help of Dave Ley (and gang) it was a success.

Are Super Chevy events a posible new "home" for NHRA class legal cars; the "featured product"?.....add in the Fun Ford weekends and you have a......series; add in a Nitro Joe monthly newsletter (to replace our ND fix) with points standings, and articles by Evan, Hill, Jack and others and viola an option to NHRA's enhancements

I wish Maple Grove would go back to having their Ford weekend too.

Ev:

Sorry I missed Campy. He told me he was going to have a golf cart there and I kept an eye for him. Let me tell you: It was HOT!! Florida in the summer hot!! Walking around that place was extreme.
I look forward to the event coverage in Super Chevy Magazine.

There is talk of bringing back the Ford weekend and inviting SS/S racers.

What would it take to put on sportsman national events featuring s/ss. Besides the obvious money, how do get started?
