It's a sad, sad day in these parts. Jr. was laid to rest today and I'm sure it was horrendously difficult to say good-bye. Things will never be the same for his family, friends of family, friends and racers. Even those who never met him, knowing the legacy of his Dad. Hard working good people that now have to deal with this loss and to somehow move on. Godspeed and rest in Heavenly peace Frank Iaconio Jr.

I grew up watching Frank, Sr during the heydays of Pro Stock but never met him. I thought about this all day yesterday and just how tough it must have been. As my Grandmother once said, "we are not to bury our children". From what I have read about his son, he knew what he wanted to do and achieved the training to do it. I think about his parents and how tough it will be for Frank to go back into that shop. I have a friend who just lost his son in a horrible motorcycle accident and it just hits home how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken from you. Stay safe everyone.

Condolences to Frank and his family. I will miss his legendary Revell Iaconio Chevy Camaro. It's hard to get out of the ultra-exchange world of Pro-Stock drag racing. During his career, Frank Iaconio has competed in 11 Pro-Stock National Finals, and his engines have won 4 more races. A few years ago, I also got into an accident, after which I stopped driving a car at all. I used a lawyer in Houston to prove my innocence and get compensation. But I still have this fear of driving. Perhaps, it will pass, or I will force myself to drive in the future, but I feel that now is not the time.
