Default street/strip engine question

hope you's dont mind me in this section. very healthy 496ci/auto, 67 chevelle. holley hp 950 carb. need to determine lean/rich conditions with 8'' of vacume @ idle. egt probes/system in the headers? tks a bunch for any suggestions.

Put an O2 sensor and data logger in it.

Ive used an Autometer wideband gauge and O2 sensor in my truck to get a tune out of it. Works great.

With an idle with 8" vac. it must be fairly lumpy, so the wide band won't be very accurate at idle but will be useful above that,

@ idle is the issue. way rich. have been all through the tuning to no avail.

Does that carb have the holes in the butterflies?
On Dominators I've had success with restricting the idle feed holes.
