harness belts recertification
Does it make any sense to look around for safety equipment manufacturer to recertify a 5 point harness ???...have a set of cam-lok's...expire December 2021...they are Racequip...who don't re-certify any longer...maybe just best to buy new set (?)...

Re: harness belts recertification
RCI platinum come with a re-cert coupon, pay $20 S&h and they come back with a very fresh date.

Re: harness belts recertification
Thank you...though I did mention that unit we have is RACEQUIP...assume you are suggesting just buy a new set from RCI which is probably just the wise choice...every time I "think" I'm going to build a better "mousetrap"...I can't/don't-lol...guess should just buy a new set & be done with it !!!

Re: harness belts recertification
Sell them to a off-roader and buy some Pro 1s you won’t be disappointed and they pay Contingency at certain events

Re: harness belts recertification
Yes, I did notice that you have Racequip. When I recently bought belts, I looked into who does re-certs of their own or other brands. The list is slim to none, except for the RCI platinum series, so that is what I purchased. I wanted to move from latch to cam, and paying the extra cost of camlocks every two years did not appeal to me, compared to getting a re-cert.

Re: harness belts recertification
I just sent mine back for the 4th time. Fast, Reliable, inexpensive, and
they get returned with favorable expiry dates. Mine are camlocks. J.R. |

Re: harness belts recertification
Stroud has recertified my belts for years.
Basically new belts using the same hardware. I don't think they recert any belts other than their own, how ever new owner could have new policies. https://stroudsafety.com/ |

Re: harness belts recertification
My understanding was that only the original manufacturer is allowed to reweb and re certify belts that they make themselves. I had the same local harness maker reweb and recert my belts for many years, until she decided to retire, and moved far away. But she was only permitted to do this on the products that she actually made. Having that done always gave good SFI dates, rather than ending up with a harness that had been sitting on a shelf, with the dates already 6 or 8 months old.
