Re: S/SS combo @ BIR 2011
It's probably been since you were in diapers Andy since Rock Falls has run a S/SS event. Rock is pretty much strictly a Bracket track...figured you would know, as your a many time champ there!
S/SS will be gone at BIR in '12 if it isn't supported I'm quite sure. For me personally, I will race some car...some where...on most weekends this season. Black car, Orange car...don't really matter to me. |

The USA banquet was good I had a positive reaction form everyone I spoke with.
Thanks to Ron Zenzen For the opportunity to speak on behalf Of the BIR Stock Super Stock racers committee. I think we are moving in the right direction to get the car count back up at BIR in 2011. Special thanks to Barry at Eagle Eye Photography He is now making clocks with his outstanding photos of your car on them. (It’s a gift I will cherish forever thank you very much!! ) Here are the posters I am going to be printing up to put at various places. Hope this will get some spectators to show up. If you would like one for your shop or biz. please let me know. Thanks! |
Re: S/SS combo @ BIR 2011
Glen, What the heck kind of a program is the USA going to run this year? It must be pretty top secret because nothing has been published about it yet!!! Are they going to have a Sportsman Times this year? Whats the story? You can tell us, because no one else will. Thanks, Joe D

Re: S/SS combo @ BIR 2011
Hi Joe
I'm sorry, but I should have put this on here before: USA has a questioner for all competing members to fill out. They are trying to get input from the racers before making a plan for this year. On what you like, and don't, and how you would like to see things done this year. I think you should call Tippy and get one of the questioners USA handed out, fill it out and send it back in. Any Way; how-come you didn't go?? I missed you! :( Quote:

I belive everyone handed them in after the dinner. Calling Tippy can get more.

Re: S/SS combo @ BIR 2011
Well I think you can?
I was asked to take 10 of them back up north with me to giveout to the people up here and to have them mail back. I was unclear on when the results will be totaled up. And when the program will be out. Quote:

Re: S/SS combo @ BIR 2011
Now, here is my theory on the situation. My main obligation this year is to help to get a full field at BIR, and nothing else. I may go to Earlville, but thats it. I am not ready to travel all over the country to try to win a $1000 with the expenses that is incured while doing this. I would rather support a local track an be able to race there for the summer.
Now if the USA wants to support 3 or 4 tracks, its going to take 80-100 members. I don't see that happening. With 50 members, that is $2500 total payout which is enough for a little over one 2-day race or 2.5 one day races if there is no other money raised. To raise more money, they will have to get the advertizing going again, and with the economy I don't see that happening. In fact, I havent seen a Sportsman Times in 2 years!! If the USA wants to support BIR with extra cash, and we employ the "BOX" we could turn that program around and have a payout worth showing up for. This is my view on the subject, and its what I'm going to concentrate on. Tell me what you guys are thinking!!! |
Re: S/SS combo @ BIR 2011
Hey guys, check out the post on fuel prices, how many of you USA members want to flatted out visa cards running all over to support tracks 350 miles away? If you have too much money, do it, if you don't lets back our home track, which is a class race track, so we can have S/SS races next year. Lets hear some
views on this!!! |
