I also filled out the survey. After attending the IHRA event at Martin, it's obvious that the IHRA is suffering. I think there are several factors, including the Knoll/Torco fiasco, the loss of formerly sanctioned tracks including Milan and Norwalk, the emergence of the ADRL that has hurt their Pro Stock and Pro Modified car counts, and of course, the downturn in the economy. Hopefully they will rebound.

Running 1/8 mile races on the 1/4 mile tracks hurts IHRA, fixing that would help BOTH the car and fan counts, money in the bag.

ADRL does the same thing and people wet themselves over how cool it is.

I stand corrected !! I was looking at the schedule page. The IHRA logo was formerly in the banner at the top of the page.......

I believe most if not all of the ADRL stuff is real heads up pedal to the floor classes (not the .90 stuff). The general race fan will never fully understand index and throttle stop racing, and I think most of them don't want to. Real heads up racing seems to put the most butts in the seats, I prefer stock/super stock, but there doesn't seem to be as much enthusiasm for that type of racing in the coming generation(s).

Isn't ADRL the one that gives out all the free tickets?

They only run Pro heads-up classes. As stated above, they run 1/8th mile. They fill the stands.
