Re: Aluminum master cylinder?

Yes, the s10 only comes that way I think, and my race cars are disc/drum also.

Ok, we have changed direction and will be going 4 wheel disc.... Would this M/C still work?

Recomendations on bore diameter if I bought an aftermarket?

Lyn,
There is a new Ford master cylinder on eBay that is aluminum with a steel cap. The eBay item number is 270360589638.

Lyn: Stainless Steel Brake Coporation (ssbrakes.com) has an aluminum master cylinder the looks like the cast iron Corvette version (their part number 0476) one inch bore for manual disc brakes and only weights four pounds. You can order them from Summit or Jeg's also!

Anyone know where I can get a new brake rod that goes into the back of the master cylinder. I have a 24 MM bore size dodge aluminum master cyclinder. Thanks.

Re: Aluminum master cylinder?

i just went through all this. a late 70's early 80's pickup is 1 1/8 bore, mid 80's diplomat is 1 1/16, and mid 80's daytona is 24 mm which is under an inch. BUT i put one on my car and dont like it and am gonna go to the diplomat. also most of the new mastercylinders are cast iron replacements but the rebuilds which are like 15 bucks are aluminum. hope it helps.
