Well day number three, we will see if stupid money will be here today. I had to fix over 70 tires and got to see most of the cars up close. Most of the cars were not worth what they brought but that is why they auction them off. But on the other hand some of them were sweet rides and to get mso,s and to be the first owner of the car raised there price. Tom

Re: Lambert Auction

Tom Meyer....thanks for the lead...on the whole thing! I can't imagine what it felt to
be a part of it...(sounds like you worked your but off, LOL!!!)

I saw the tv show...and think the History Channel did a decent job trying to make it
interesting for all concerned....given the time frame they had...

If you're an intense car/auction buff...you change the channel to Barrett-Jackson...
plain and simple....

I like the MO of the Australian lady...I'll get the car FIRST...then we'll worry about
getting it HOME!!!! (She DID get her car....)

Understand the prices were a bit high...given the conditions...(trees included?)...BUT
auctions tend to do that...and the Lambrechdt situation helped as well...

Hope the guy focused on 348 W-motor cars found one...

Wish it had a bit more coverage on the Tri-Fives that were there....I still think that I
saw at least one or two 1955 150-series 2-dr posts...maybe one of them might
have been a Business Coupe?

It would be interesting to know...where each vehicle ended up....(state or country...
don't need specific locations or names)...and the selling price....

Is this info private?

Re: Lambert Auction

The selling price is listed on the Auctioneer's site as the vehicles are sold. The home of the winning bidder was announced, if it was known, as the hammer dropped.

I wonder how many of the As-Is-Where-Is lot's will be stripped on site and left for the crusher!

Re: Lambert Auction

I watched on the history channel and I have to wonder how many of those people bidding crazy numbers have never bought a car that has been sitting on dirt for many years.

I myself have and learned first hand how much damage even 2 years sitting on dirt will do to everything underneath.

BTW:
The Australian gal was interesting to watch.
She was hoping someone at the auction could help her get that Chevy back home. Wow...now that is gambling !

Tom, I was at your shop, and you were out and about. I talked with Bill a bit. He had lots of lookers at the cars on your lot. Sorry we missed you.

Reminds me of a guy here in Arizona that owns several Hemi cars (and E-body Hemi convertibles). In his yard are numerous very rare muscle cars including 3 original Hemi A- body cars. They sit in the sun for decades. Will they ever get a restoration? I doubt it. Always seems to me such a waste to have a car sitting around doing nothing.

$140K for a '59 Cameo six cylinder truck? I'll bet there will be $50K on a restoration and you still have a six cylinder truck. Then I'll bet nobody would drive it for fear of achieving double digits on the odometer.

The estate and auction house did very well on this!
