I expect that that they are probably making a bunch of long term customers (and a bunch of money).

You also have to remember, most 1/8th mile tracks are in more rural areas. (At least around here) Not as much else to do, maybe cow tipping. Around here there are local sports teams, and constant concerts. Rod Stewart this weekend I believe. They typically draw more spectators in the smaller towns around here, as there is not as much else to do. Couple that with free admission, and you have a big turnout. Personally, I wouldn't walk across the street to watch a bunch of cars that could not qualify at an NHRA race run 1/8th mile. The local "pro mods" want to run 1/8th mile becasue, they admit, they can't keep them together for 1/4 mile. Ask them why they don't run any NHRA races close by and some will tell you they can't pass tech. Some of them couldn't qualify for Pro Stock, much less Pro Mod. It's good they have a place to play, but I don't find them interesting to watch. They still break a lot, oiling down the track.

Some (I would say all of them now) of the ADRL Pro Mods are running traction control devices at their events. Not legal at "I" and "N" events.

Mike Janis just revealed it the other day on Comp Plus. Puts on a better show as no cars going up in smoke with traction issues.
