Does this mean that Pepsi or other prominent soft drink company products and cars with their advertising will not be allowed on the grounds of an NHRA national event?

Yes. VegasFuel energy drink teams were required to cover their sponsor logos -- not sure what events the Worners ran into this, but Ray Thurston (Top Sportsman) dealt with this at the Norwalk national event.
